As a group, doctor and medical students face clear stressors that can impact mental health. Every year, an estimated 300 to 400 physicians die by suicide, according to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. About 45 percent of medical students say they feel burned out during intense training, before even starting their careers. Doctors are trained to look after other people and yet they are the last ones to seek help. The Mental Health MD community connects students and physicians to educate about anxiety, depression, death, burnout, and hope. The struggle is real and it is important for you not to face it alone.
